Our story
What was supposed to be just a casual brunch at Gast in Stockholm quickly turned into something more. Over avocado toast, the conversation flowed effortlessly, and we found ourselves genuinely curious about each other's life and experiences. What began as a simple meeting soon stretched into an entire weekend of exploring the city together—sipping refreshing drinks at several (rooftop) bars, and moments of discovery that made us realize we didn’t want to stop spending time together.
From there, the adventures only grew. We shared the Northern Lights in Norway, went on Safari in South Africa, and rode Ruben's motorcycle through the Scottish Highlands and the Alps togther. Through every adventure, we found new ways to connect—and we knew, no matter where we went next, we'd always have each other, and plenty of avocado toast along the way.
The Proposal
To escape the dark and cold Swedish winter, we decided to spend the 2023-2024 Christmas break in the sunny Dominican Republic.
After a few relaxing days on the beach, Ruben planned a surprise adventure as a romantic getaway. Knowing how much Malin loved riding horses from her childhood, he arranged for us to take a special ride along a nearby beach. Two beautiful horses were waiting for us, and once we set off, we rode under the warm sun with the waves crashing nearby and the sky slowly turning pink as the sun set.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious meal and wine at a charming restaurant. But the evening wasn’t over yet. We took a romantic walk along the beach under the moonlight, and it was there, in the soft glow of the night, that Ruben got down on one knee and asked Malin to be his partner for life. Malin gave a big smile and said yes!It was a perfect moment in the perfect place, and one we’ll cherish forever.
